Old paint cans are one of the most common items people try to include in junk removal — and one of the most common things removal companies have to leave behind. Here is a clear guide to what is and is not accepted for junk removal in Las Vegas, and where to take the stuff we cannot haul.
Paint — Cannot Take (With Exceptions)
Liquid paint is classified as hazardous waste and cannot be landfilled or transported by standard junk removal companies. Dried, hardened paint in cans with lids removed is sometimes accepted as solid waste — check with us when you book. Latex paint can be dried out by leaving lids off and adding kitty litter, then disposed of as solid waste.
Other Hazardous Materials We Cannot Take
Motor oil and automotive fluids
Pesticides, herbicides, and pool chemicals
Cleaning solvents and degreasers
Batteries in large quantities
Propane tanks (full or unknown status)
Asbestos-containing materials
Mercury-containing items (thermometers, old thermostats)
