How to Prepare for Junk Removal Day — Tips From Las Vegas Pros

Junk removal is one of the easiest home services to hire — but a little preparation can make it even faster, cheaper, and smoother. Here is what the JunkStopper crew recommends doing before your appointment.
1. Decide What Goes and What Stays
The most common cause of appointment delays is indecision on the day. Walk through your home before we arrive and make clear decisions about what you want removed. If something might be going but you are not sure, put it in one pile and decide before we show up. Every minute of indecision costs time.
2. Create a Clear Path to the Items
You do not need to move anything heavy — that is our job. But clearing a path from the items to the door (removing boxes, tripping hazards, or loose items on the floor) helps the crew work faster and reduces the risk of anything getting damaged.
3. Note Any Access Challenges
When you book, mention anything that could affect the job: narrow hallways, stairs, gate codes, elevator access, HOA restrictions, or limited parking. The more we know ahead of time, the smoother the job goes.
4. Separate Items You Want Donated
If you have items you specifically want donated rather than disposed of, set them apart or label them. We will make every effort to route those items to the right place.
5. You Do Not Need to Be Home
As long as we have access to the items — either through an unlocked gate, a garage code, or a trusted contact on site — you do not need to be present. Many of our customers leave for work and come home to a cleared-out space. Just confirm access details when you book.
6. Take a Before Photo
This is optional but satisfying. A before photo helps you appreciate the after — and it gives you documentation if you ever need to verify what was removed for an estate or insurance purpose.
