Junk Removal for New Las Vegas Residents — What to Know When You Move In

Las Vegas is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and thousands of new residents arrive every month. If you have just moved in — or are in the process of settling a new home — here is a practical guide to junk removal and waste disposal in the Las Vegas Valley.

Clark County Bulk Waste Pickup — Free for Residents

Once you are a Republic Services customer (which you likely are automatically as a Las Vegas area resident), you are eligible for free scheduled bulk waste pickup. This covers large furniture and household items placed at the curb on your scheduled pickup day. Set it up at republicservices.com.

What the City Does Not Take

Electronics, appliances with refrigerant, hazardous materials, and construction debris are not accepted in standard bulk pickup. For these items, you need a specialist — either the Clark County HHW facility for hazardous materials or a junk removal company like JunkStopper for the rest.

HOA Rules Vary Widely

Las Vegas has an enormous number of HOA communities with different rules about trash, bulk items, and curbside staging. Check your HOA rules before leaving anything at the curb — fines are common in some communities for improper disposal.

Settling In — Getting Rid of the Old

Moving into a home often means the previous owners left things behind, or your own move-in produced packaging, old furniture, and items that did not make the cut. JunkStopper specializes in move-in cleanouts — clearing out whatever the previous occupants left and getting your new space ready for your life.
