Every legitimate junk removal company has items they legally cannot haul — not because they do not want to, but because of Nevada environmental law, EPA regulations, and liability. Knowing these restrictions in advance saves time, prevents surprise refusals on the day, and keeps you out of potential legal trouble.
Universally Restricted Items
Liquid paint, stain, and varnish — classified as hazardous liquid waste
Motor oil and automotive fluids — regulated hazardous material
Pesticides, herbicides, and pool chemicals — toxic chemical waste
Propane tanks (full or unknown) — explosive hazard
Asbestos-containing materials — requires licensed abatement
Biohazardous materials — blood, bodily fluids, needles, medical waste
Medical waste and sharps — requires licensed medical waste disposal
Radioactive materials — requires specialized licensed disposal
Conditionally Accepted Items
Tires — surcharge applies, call to confirm availability
Wet concrete or large volumes of soil — call for pricing
Large volumes of electronics — accepted, recycling fees may apply
Dried paint in open cans — generally accepted as solid waste
What to Do With Restricted Items
Clark County's Household Hazardous Waste facility at 500 N. Pabco Road in Henderson accepts paint, chemicals, and most hazardous household materials for free from Clark County residents. For biohazards and medical waste, call a licensed Nevada remediation company.
Everything Else — JunkStopper Takes It
The list of what we CANNOT take is much shorter than what we CAN take. For anything not on the restricted list — call (702) 824-6219. We likely take it and can confirm immediately.
